Move-In Package PickUPP at Lane Stadium

Blacksburg campus residential students expecting the arrival of packages sent via USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL before or during Move-in should follow the process below to retrieve them during Move-In from Lane Stadium.

Dates: Aug. 14 - 23, 2020
Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Lane Stadium, Gate 6 (West End)

Beginning Monday, Aug. 24, all package pickups will take place at the new Virginia Tech Package PickUPP Program intelligent lockers, Owens Hall, and the Graduate Life Center. Students will receive an email as to the location to pick up their packages when they are ready.



*The exception during Move-in is the Corps of Cadets whose mail and packages for first-year cadets should be addressed to Lane Hall during New Cadet Week, Aug. 15-Aug. 21, 2020. Guidance can be found in the New Cadet Guide. Following New Cadet Week, packages and mail can be picked up following the post-Aug. 22 directions below.


Before You Head to Lane: What You'll Need to Bring
 

Email that your package is ready for pick up (on your screen is fine)*

*Students will first receive an email that their package has arrived on campus and is processing. Please wait for the second email (above) before heading to Lane.

Hokie Passport to pick up your package

Government ID to borrow a dolly to transport large packages*

*A limited quantities of dollies will be available and are first-come, first-serve. Students are encouraged to bring their own dollies/carts to transport.

Face covering. Safety first!


What to Do When You Get to Lane Stadium
 


Follow the exterior signs to enter the line at Gate 6 (northwest corner of the Stadium along Beamer Way). Following the directional signs, proceed through the line inside the concourse towards the check-in desk.

Be sure to keep your physical distance from the person in front of you by standing on the floor decals. Be sure to wear your face covering, too.

Visit the check-in desk where you will present your Hokie Passport. The agent will direct you to PickUPP Station A, B, C, or D, marked by signs, to retrieve your package.

Exit through where you arrived (Gate 6). If you borrowed a dolly, please return to Gate 3 to get your ID back.


What to Expect at Lane
 

Only students inside

Only the student will be allowed to enter Lane Stadium. Parents, family members, and friends will not be able to enter to maximize physical distancing.

Parking

Parking is available with a Student or Visitor Parking Permit or Move-in parking pass (sent to all residential students in the mail prior to Move-in). The closest parking, depending on traffic, is located in the Coliseum Lot, Stadium Lot, and the Chicken Hill Lot.

Dollies

If you are expecting a heavy package, limited quantities of dollies will be available for loan with a government-issued I.D. Dollies will be returned at Gate 3. Students are encouraged to bring their own dolly or cart.

Lines

There may be long lines due to the extensive volume of packages being retrieved. Bring water and wear sunscreen and a face covering.
Water will also be available inside the concourse (cash only).

Students expecting multiple packages may need to make multiple trips to Lane Stadium based on the days the packages arrive and are processed.

Retrieving packages after Aug. 23
